How to install A-Dock ?

A-Dock requires Mac OS 8.5 or newer to run !!

Installing A-Dock for the first time

    Step 1 :
Drag&drop the files “A-Dock” and “A-Dock Control” onto the icon of your System Folder. The Finder will then ask you if you want to place these files in the Extensions Folder and Control Panels Folder. Answer yes.

    Step 2:
Drag&drop the folder “A-Dock Help” inside the Help folder of your System Folder.

    Step 3:
Restart your computer or read the note at the end of this page.

Installing a new version

When A-Dock is running, it's not possible to replace the old file from the Extensions Folder by the new one, so you'll have to quit A-Dock first.

    Step 1 :
Run the script “Quit A-Dock” that you'll find in the “Goodies” folder.

    Note:
If you don't have the script “Quit A-Dock” anymore, move the old file “A-Dock” that's located in your Extensions folder of your System Folder to the trash and don't empty it.

    Step 2 :
Drag&drop the files “A-Dock” and “A-Dock Control” onto the icon of your System Folder to let the Finder move them where the belong. Drag also the file “TSM Fix” if you don't have it already.

    Step 3:
Drag&drop the folder “A-Dock Help” inside the Help folder of your System Folder.

    Step 4:
Restart your computer or read the note below.

    Note:
A-Dock is an extension, so normally you have to restart to load it. However, A-Dock Control is able to launch it for you without restarting. For that, open “A-Dock Control” from the Control Panels. A-Dock Control will display an alert telling you that A-Dock is not running and will then TRY to load it (“try” means it may fail !!).
